Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Purpose and Position Overview: Snow & Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Fremont. This is a hands-on, design-focused role where you'll take the lead on complex mechanical systems for commercial workboats and advanced maritime vessels. From propulsion and fuel to HVAC and steering, your work will directly influence the performance, reliability, and safety of every vessel we build.
This position requires both technical expertise and practical creativity. You’ll exercise a high degree of independent judgment while collaborating closely with production teams, regulatory agencies, and engineers. If you're passionate about marine systems and thrive in fast-paced environment while demonstrating a high attention to detail, this is the role for you.
Right now is an especially exciting time to come aboard—we’re building two state-of-the-art electric tugboats, managing a full dry dock construction, and kicking off a major eight-year contract to build advanced workboats for the U.S. Navy. This position is based in an office within an active boatyard and requires regular visits to vessels and production areas. These environments involve moderate to high noise levels, uneven surfaces, and physical access challenges such as inclined gangways and vertical ladders. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safety protocols are mandatory.
