Mission Health, a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Vascular Access Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this patient-facing role, you will specialize in the assessment, insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vascular access devices for a diverse patient population across inpatient and outpatient settings. Drawing on your clinical expertise, you will perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV insertions, midlines, and PICC line placements in accordance with evidence-based standards, hospital policies, and infection prevention protocols. You will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interprofessional team members to determine the most appropriate vascular access device for each patient based on diagnosis, treatment plan, and vein assessment, while prioritizing patient comfort and safety. Daily responsibilities include completing thorough vascular access evaluations, educating patients and families on device care and potential complications, monitoring and documenting line function and patency, and responding promptly to consults and rapid requests for difficult IV access. You will take an active role in reducing line-related complications by adhering to CLABSI prevention bundles, performing sterile dressing changes, and providing staff education on line care and proper access techniques. As part of Mission Health’s collaborative culture, you will participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to the development and refinement of vascular access policies, and help standardize best practices across the organization. You will utilize advanced technology, including ultrasound and electronic medical record systems, to support safe clinical decision-making and accurate documentation. This position is well-suited for an experienced RN who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, capable of prioritizing a dynamic workload, and committed to lifelong learning. In return, Mission Health offers a supportive environment focused on respect, teamwork, and professional growth, with opportunities for advanced clinical training, specialty certification, and career advancement within the healthcare system. By joining Mission Health as a Vascular Access Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring reliable vascular access, enhancing patient experiences, and improving outcomes for the community we are privileged to serve.
