Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Nurse Educator for our Progressive Care environment within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will serve as a clinical resource and educator for bedside nurses and interdisciplinary team members caring for high-acuity, medically complex adult patients. You will collaborate closely with nursing leadership and unit staff to assess learning needs, design and deliver evidence-based education, and support the transition of new and experienced nurses into the progressive care setting. The Nurse Educator Progressive Care is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating orientation programs, annual competencies, and ongoing professional development activities that promote safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care. You will provide real-time clinical coaching at the bedside, lead skills labs and simulation-based training, and support staff in applying current clinical guidelines, policies, and best practices. You will help identify gaps in knowledge or performance, use data from quality and safety metrics to inform educational priorities, and partner with leaders to drive improvements in patient outcomes, patient experience, and staff engagement. Working within Mission Health’s collaborative culture, you will foster an environment of teamwork, respect, and continuous learning. You will mentor and support nurses in pursuing specialty certifications, leadership opportunities, and advanced practice or academic goals. This position requires strong clinical expertise in progressive or critical care, excellent communication and teaching skills, and the ability to engage diverse learners across all shifts. You will participate in shared governance and interdisciplinary initiatives, contribute to policy and protocol development, and help integrate new technologies, equipment, and evidence-based practices into daily workflows. As part of the Mission Health system, you will join an organization dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the community through advanced medical services and compassionate care. The current opportunity focuses on supporting Registered Nurses who provide exceptional, patient-centered care with clear pathways for professional advancement. This is a full-time role with a primarily on-site presence in the progressive care environment, with some flexibility for hybrid work related to education planning, content development, and virtual learning. The Nurse Educator Progressive Care role is ideal for an experienced progressive or critical care RN who is passionate about teaching, clinical excellence, and developing others while contributing to a culture of safety, quality, and respect.
