Overview

We are looking for a highly organized, dependable, and personable individual to join a senior mortgage loan officer's team as a Loan Officer Assistant / Customer Support & Processing Trainee .

This is an entry-level, training-focused position for someone who wants to learn the mortgage business from the ground up. Mortgage experience is helpful but not required . The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to stay organized while managing multiple borrower files and follow-up items.

This role will support the borrower, loan officer, processor, and loan file from the beginning of the mortgage process through closing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the producing loan officer or manager with daily operations and client communications.
• Respond to inquiries from customers, builders, and realtors during the application and processing phases.
• Complete and review loan applications for accuracy and completeness.
• Track mortgage loans through closing and provide updates to clients regarding file status and underwriting requirements.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties to support the loan process.
• Utilize internal CRM system (Total Expert) to manage client interactions and documentation.
• Set up files during the prequalification stage and help identify suitable loan products for each client.
• Order appraisals and title work as needed.
• Submit completed loan application files for underwriting approval.
• Follow up on outstanding underwriting conditions or documentation.
• Deliver excellent internal and external customer service throughout the loan process.

Qualifications

• Experience in mortgage lending or bank operations is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and computer proficiency.
• A background in finance would be strongly desired.
