Education Programs Consultant Salary: $8,237.00 - $10,310.00 per Month Under general supervision of the Education Administrator I of the Teacher and Leader Policy Office, the Education Programs Consultant (EPC) works as a team leader, team member, and/or independently to implement the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Title II, Part A. Responsibilities Manage the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Incentive Program, including preparing subsidies, providing technical assistance, responding to inquiries, conducting workshops, and presenting about the NBPTS Incentive Program. Oversee administration of the NBPTS Incentive program, managing fund distribution, correspondence for signatures, and preparing fiscal and program monitoring reports. Collaborate with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and NBPTS to administer incentive programs, review applications, and ensure qualifications are met. Develop, review, analyze, and interpret state and federal statutes, regulations, policy documents, and research to recommend legislative and policy changes. Promote educational programs and interventions that support high‑quality professional learning for educators, including supporting LGBTQ+ student projects and statewide Gifted and Talented Education programs. Represent the Department at conferences, workshops, and external meetings; make oral presentations and prepare written responses to inquiries. Minimum Requirements Relevant experience managing NBPTS or equivalent incentive programs. Sound knowledge of ESEA Title II, Part A and related federal and state education policy. Prior experience developing and delivering professional development for educators. Strong communication and public‑speaking skills. Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of the National Board Teacher Certification Program and current educational reform efforts. Experience working with school districts, county offices of education, and professional development providers. Familiarity with State Superintendent initiatives and State Board policies. Excellent organizational habits and advanced presentation skills. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
