The Suburban Biodiversity Conservation Center at Dyson College is Pace University's premier organization dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of our local environment. The SBCC is looking for student Conservation Center Assistants to assist with managing the Center's property and programs this summer under the guidance of the Conservation Center Manager.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• Assisting SBCC staff with the management and maintenance of the Conservation Center property
• Collaborating with SBCC staff and faculty on research projects and programs
• Conducting public education programs according to SBCC standards under the supervision of the Conservation Center Manager
• Acting as a representative of the SBCC at University events

Requirements

• Transportation to and from PLV campus
• Ability to work outside for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Field related knowledge in one or more of the following subjects: environmental science, botany, environmental education, wildlife biology, ecology, conservation biology
• Preference given to students working towards a degree in Environmental Science/Studies, minor in Environmental Studies/Ecology, or certificate in Environmental Conservation
